Playing football with golden balls

One day I hardly entered the Archeological Institute that I heard these words: "It's extraordinary ! You are just in time ! Have you heard what happened at Băiceni, in Moldavia ? I don't think so because it much to recent ! Can you believe that someone found a golden treasure and thought it was made from simple metal ? First, the man thrown away its pieces, but then took them back and used them for playing football with his friends".

A few moments later, I was looking at the treasure. I could see why the people who found it acted that way. I wouldn't had guessed that in time, the gold got such an aspect. At first sight, the pieces seemed to be made of bronze. Only one specialist could notice their delicate decorations, which represented geometrical drawings, images of strange animals and one human face. I was dealing with 2,5 kg of gold, older than 2.300 years.

A famous name: Cucuteni

This discovery was made on Laiu plateau very close to the Neolithic resort of Cucuteni, in Băiceni. During digging at Cătălina Citadel, there were found, almost unmodified by the time's passage, many oak beams, which were "planted" there 2.200 years ago! Professor Mircea Petrescu Dambovita underlined for me the importance of Cucuteni.It is a famous name all over the world mentioned by all the works regarding the Neolithic Art's history. At Cucuteni there was a trib which even if it lived 3000 years B.C. had a very advanced civilization.

A very controverted problem of our days is the age of Coccidian culture. Using carbon 14 was shown that it is older than the inscriptions found at Tărtăria. These last ones, as all specialists admit, are contemporaneous to Mesopothamyc ones, dated 2800-2750 B.C.
