The Danube Delta

Unique natural aspects, a flora and a fauna spoiled by gods, the culture and the people of Danube Delta ... all these crowned by the maximum of the last solar eclipse of the millennium. The Danube Delta, declared by the UNESCO "Reservation of the Biosphere", hides a unique landscape surrounded by reed, channels, lakes, floated fields and forests having a tropical aspect. The multitude of all these establishes the most differentiated ecosystems, a variety of the flora and fauna waiting for its equivalent. Over 300 species of birds, aver 150 species of fish and approximately 1150 sorts of plants exist here and the largest compact reed area of the world! The environs are marked by a multitude of cultural - historical sightseeing spots dating from antiquity up till now. Last but not the least, a bath in one of the numerous channels or lakes of the Delta or even in the Black Sea will be surely welcome!

The tour leads us along and across the Danube Delta and offers us the unique opportunity of observing and examining the flora and fauna of the Delta in the most direct and immediate way. This is accomplished through trips a foot or by boat and makes this virgin nature "tangible" in its intimacy.

And that's not all - we will also meet the people who live on these realms, the great majority of whom are fishermen. A trip on their boat is always a beauty spot. Throughout the program we are offering a look through their way of life.

In the conterminous environs - in Dobrogea - old monasteries are waiting to be discovered and visited by us at the feet of the oldest mountains of our continent. A trip through this region will present us their particular beauty and a unique and exquisite nature.

Our tour will end in Constanta, a town with a millinery history reminding us of Greek and subsequent Roman influences, signs of its antique culture. We will travel by local means of conveyance beside and together with the other passengers, enjoying their originality.

We will also have the opportunity to value the culinary art of these places being spoiled by the talent and tradition of of hosts. We will eat at the same table with them as a real "family".
